Grow-a-frog kit vs. African clawed frog?

Hi there!

My boyfriend got me a grow-a-frog kit for my birthday, and I know that the frogs from the kits are grown in laboratories - but are they the same as African clawed frogs, or are there major differences in their appearance and temperament?

The "Grow-a-Frog" frogs are regular African clawed frogs.

I guess they're a lot smaller, but are very similar.

Whet did they finish metamorphosis? Frogs and toads will be very little for awhile after transforming (they are called froglets or toadlets, which are such cute words!). They just need time to grow.

They say on the website that they generally only reach the size of a half dollar. Hmmm.
