I am here to ask two questions, one: do frogs burrow exclusively when it's too cold, moist, or when they're stressed? Two: will frogs eventually give up on something forever if they miss or mess up a few times, say they missed some food a couple of times, would they just give up?

It's also the way they hunt for prey in the wild; they hide in the dirt and leaf litter and ambush whatever happens to come by. It's true that if they're stressed, they're much more likely to hunker down in a hole, but it's definitely not exclusive to them feeling unsettled.
They really only give up on something if it tastes horrid, like red wigglers. I've read stories where one taste of those things puts them off any kind of worm.
