Rio Grande or Southern Leopard Frog?

When you held the frog did it make a noise when you grabbed it? The ears suggest it may be a male but I can't see them good enough to say that's the gender. If it makes a noise like a low growl then it's a male. You should not handle a leopard frog like that because you can stress them out very easily and when I had one I tried not to touch him as much as possible. They can get stressed out to the point of death an they are nervous frogs. I'm not saying you are doing anything wrong because you are showing us a picture but for advice about these frogs it is best to just let them be. It's a very nice healthy looking frog you have it looks like you take care of it!

Yeah the ears are the same size as the eyes. Thanks for the tip about handling! I have its tank covered with towels to help with stress, and it's in a low traffic area so not many people go there. I don't pick it up except for pics, and even then I wet my hands so I don't dry her out. It does growl but I've seen definite males of the species and they had the vocal sacs, whereas this one either doesn't have them or doesn't want me to see them, lol. Thanks for your help!
