My dumpy frog, Houdini seems to have a parasite? He has white strings (worms?) under his skin which I can see in light. He has been getting what look like liquid-filled bumps on his left leg since I bought him. I would treat them with Bactine and they almost always go away. I always assumed they were from landing too hard after a jump. Now he has multiple bumps on both of his legs and they bleed. I have continued to treat his legs with Bactine but it seems like itÂ’s just getting worse! Has anyone ever seen this before? IÂ’m taking him to the vet tomorrow but I just want to know what it is and whatÂ’s I could be doing now.
Sorry I couldn't be here sooner, how is he? What was it?
I’m still not sure, he goes to the vet this afternoon and we’ll find out what he has.
Glad you're getting that checked out. Best case would probably be infected cricket bites, but I doubt there'd be so many in one place. Parasites are possible.
I tong feed and make sure all the crickets that fall into the tank are eating or taken out so I doubt it’s cricket bites. He’s on his way to the vet now so we’ll find out soon!
Is he doing ok? Did you find out what he has yet?
I would be interested in reading updates concerning his prognosis. One of my tree frogs (maybe both...still figuring that out ) turned out to have parasites and they had marks not too different from the ones your frog has though hers never bled.
