What kind of filter can I use with tadpoles?

I know that tadpoles don't NEED a filter, but I would like to use one anyways, and I was wondering what kind of filter works best with tadpoles. Currently I have a Terra Whisper i3 filter, would that work or should I get a different one?

I find that growing tadpoles can foul the water more than any fish.

I have a "Hydor 150" which is a pump designed for a 20-40 gallon tank. It's pumping about 11 gallons. Filters get changed frequently.

My tadpoles are in a 10 gallon, and are only a week old and are very tiny. I'm afraid that a powerful filter would suck them up. The one I have is for 3 gallons, and won't filter out the entire tank but will help a little bit. Should I get a 10 gallon filter or just stick with the one I have?

The thing about a filter is how, after a while, a bacterial cycle gets established which gets rid of ammonia and nitrites.
It can take a month for the good bacteria to set up shop.
If you change your filter, you reset this process.

I think tadpoles can live in remarkably filthy water. I'd say don't buy more equipment until you know you have an issue.

It's not a very long term thing. I vote for keeping the filter you have and upgrading only if it obviously fails at its task.

I wrap my intake filter with bulk media. That saves all of the tiny babies, especially the cherry shrimp.

An easy way to clean up your water is with partial water changes. Use a product that removes chlorine, add it to your tap water, let the water sit for a while to equalize in temperature. Then drain about half of your tadpole water and replace with fresh.
