If you put the biological media from your current filter in a new filter that would keep he cycle going, but I'm not sure how you'd go about that. Tadpoles aren't strong swimmers, right? You could try keeping the flow low by maybe having the flow run onto a sponge or rock? That might not be important though. It would probably be easiest if you just did what alane said and wrap the filter in bulk media, although the Whisper 3i is meant for smaller aquarium then 10 gallons. Its your decision though, the tads will be fine either way .
