Red Eye Tree Frog Sore on Leg can anyone identify what it is?
Red Eye Tree Frog Sore on Leg can anyone identify what it is?
				Hello,
I wondered if anyone could identify what this may be on my frogs leg? It is a red lump which seems to be swollen. It is on the joint of the back leg.
Many Thanks

It's hard to see, but it looks pretty bad. Bumps can possibly be any number of things, only a vet can diagnose the cause and be able to properly treat it. I would recommend a vet visit because all the options (cyst, abscess, parasite, etc.) can be/are bad news. On the off chance it ruptures before you are able to get into the vet, you can clean the wound with Bactine (not sure if you have it where you live) and dab Neosporin without pain reliever on it. Regardless of your next step, give his tank and everything in it a good cleaning and keep it pretty spartan with only a water dish, one or two places to hide, and replace the substrate with paper towels. If his environment caused the lump, this will prevent more or the current one from getting worse.
