    Default Woodhouse toads new penthouse

My Woodhouse toads (don't know if they are Rocky Mountain or southwestern species) will be 2 years old this May/June and were previously in a 20 gallon terrarium. Petsmart had a sale on aquariums. I go a 75 gallon for $90, over $100 less than what they are originally advertised as!!! Here they are...

So I know toads don't need that much water. They love to swim in it though. My son thinks that they think they are frogs instead of toads. I plan on filling some of that area in, I was thinking about stacking bricks but I need to be careful about what type of brick I put in there. The partition is made out of a 1x6 that was covered with flex tape and it was sealed in with silicone. They have a coconut fiber substrate with a top layer of Reptobark. I'm going to put some things on the dry land part of it also. I made a lid out of some spare lumber I had and purchased some aluminum screen. Name: 20180219_210709.jpg

If you put bricks in the water, I suggest clay pavers, or granite, if you can find them locally. Not concrete based.
Nice setup. Cute kids. I think it's fun when kids help in the herp room.
    Cute toads, too, of course.

Thanks for the input. I'll use clay or maybe drive up to the mountains and find some good rocks.
