I've owned a young female American bullfrog for about a year and a half now. I caught her in my neighbor's driveway when I was 11, so of course I really didn't know how to properly care for her. I've noticed that she's grown about 1-1.5 inches in this time, and I feel she should be larger? I don't really have a regular feeding schedule for her or my frogs, but they all seem okay. I'm going to order some Dubia roaches sometime soon, so she will start having those on a regular basis. She has a very difficult time walking, which is why I'm worried. I will post a picture either tonight or tomorrow of her, but I want an idea of what I should do to treat her.
For MBD should I use calcium with or without D3 if I have a UVB lamp? I don't want her to overdose.
Sorry it took so long for someone to get back to you. If you have a UVB light, then use calcium without D3. Keep in mind UVB lights get less effective with time so be sure it's replaced accordingly. I personally do not use UVB lights and supplement with calcium including D3 with no issue, so either method works.I hope your girl gets better soon.
Thanks!
She is doing better. She hasn't gained much more strength in her back legs but her arms look much better,
That's great to hear! Hope she continues to get better!
