Hey everyone! I was putting this thread out there to see if anyone is keeping gladiator tree frogs (Hyla boans/Hypsiboas boans). I recently got a goup of 2.2 (W.C.). They are doing ok, but they all are having some nose rub issues. They are all eating well, pooping good and active. I have them housed in a custom tank that from the front, is a 3 foot cube and is a foot and a half deep from front to back. I've run a fecal on them, but haven't gotten the results back yet. As they are wild caght I'm sure that they have some parasites. I've also been given some glass slides to get a smudge print of their noses. I will end up giving this to the vet to see if there is anything eating at thier skin. Any advice from anyone out there would be great. There is very little info out there on keeping these guys in captivity. Thanks for your time everyone and I hope to hear some responses.

Four in a 100g tank seems like plenty of room. Have you noticed them jumping into the sides of the tank? Are they pushing nose first into rocks or gravel? A pic would really help out.
Hey Paul....sorry it took me a minute to get back. I think what's going on is that they are hitting the screen and the background of the tank at night while hunting. I usually grab my flashlight and peek at them a few times a night to see what going on. The bottom of the tank has a large water section that's about 5 inches deep with many, many haul outs that form land areas. It is heavily planted and the plants go all the way to the top. There are a few large climbing branches as well. The background is solid flattened cork bark. What I'm noticing is that during the day they are asleep. While they sleep, the crickets will go to the top of the background and the screen on top to soak up the heat from the lamps. As soon as the lights go out, the boans awake and start hunting. Around this time most of the feeders are still near the very top of the tank. The frogs crawl to the tops of the plants and begin pouncing upwards. I think as time goes by they are starting to realize thier surroundings and calming down a little though. I've noticed that they will feed and the next night they won't. So if they sit longer they'll start to heal. At first the biggest one looked the worst, but now they kind of rotate on who looks goods depending on who's been sleeping and who's been feeding. I do have pictures I will post up very soon as well. Thanks so much for your response. Hope to hear more.......I will let everyone know my progression.
Peace- Ryan
Oh yeah....One thing that I did want to mention is thier call. AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!!
