I do a full clean out every 3 months, sometimes 2.5 months. I wouldn't do a full clean out before 2 months.

thanks. and whats your view on disinfecting afterwards? in my view a good scrub and dry is all that would be needed. thoughts?

I use this cleaner from National Geographic brand, spray it on let it set for a few min the wipe it off. It disinfects everything. I don't have much experience doing it any other way so I cant comment on that.

The longest you should go unless Its a viv is a month. It should be Rinsed and the substrate changed once a month, and you can do a whole disinfect every few months.
