PCF care

I have a few juvenile what are believed to be PCF juveniles. However, when are they considered mature? I've read many articles suggesting feedings of everyday for the juveniles and slowing it down for the mature frogs but can't seem to find articles indicating a method to determine the frogs' age!

How long have you had them and how how did you get them? I've kept PCF's for quite a while. Size is one way, they get around 2 inches max. The males will also start croacking once they get closer to maturity. My usual mentality is to simply drop off from every day with an occasional skipped day to every other day once they're near full size. Most frog species grow to their full size in about a year, give or take. The males will be a bit smaller than the females usually.

I've had them for about a month and a half. The average being 3/4" long, with the smallest one being 1/2" and the largest being 1". I ensure they all eat until their bellies are slightly rounded (I still feed them pinhead and fruit flies because I like to see them exercise) each night around 8 pm as they are most active at night. I still feed them everyday at the moment.

They may be young wild caught specimens. Give them a few months, see how they grow. I feed the same staple to mine, they're 6 months old after metamorphosis. They are mostly almost an inch, with a couple smaller frogs. I've shifted mostly to feeding every other day now. Sometimes a feed consecutive days.

Sounds good. Thanks for the advice. I may just keep them plump on a daily business for now. Every time they go #2, they thin out considerably. It also seems they bloat themselves up purposefully when resting (my guess is for them to increase surface area to volume ratio to increase body temperature). I'm trying to help them grow as much as possible before winter comes along. I won't let them freeze but definitely want them to experience life as similarly as they can to their wild brethren.
