Kid just came home with a frog he caught...

My kid just came home with a from he caught from the country area. He has no idea on how to care for it. I want to get it back to its habitat as soon as I can but that may take a few weeks. How should I care for it and how should I feed it. I don't even know if it is a frog or toad. I have some wax worms. Should I give him one?
The frog is in a bigger containerthan the pics now.

Hi! You look to have a toad, a small one at that, but it might be a Treefrogs, since it's hard for me to see through the glass' distortions, but it looks to have partoid glands and no toepads, so I'm going with toad. It should be happy in a medium or large critter keeper(pretty reasonable price at petco/pet smart) with around 2 or 3 inches of coco fiber/plantation soil covering the bottom, a smallish water dish, and something like half a plant pot to hide under. All of it you can get at pet smart, Petclub, etc. For food, he will probably eat a wax worm if he is big enough, but they aren't a healthy food. Crickets are available at various sizes, and are a pretty good option. Normally I'd recommend vitamin and calcium supplements, but I guess if you're trying to return it to the wild it's a bit overkill. Good luck!
Oh right. The general rule of thumb is to feed your frog food items no larger than the space between their eyes.

That is a Fowler's Toad (Anaxyrus Fowleri)

in terms of care Daybr4ke has you covered. Hopefully you can return the little guy to the wild soon. This species is quite rare

I forgot, make sure to replace his water each day while you have him. Tap water treated with a dechlorinator like reptile safe or Amquel is best, since distilled water can leech minerals from a frog's skin. Good luck getting him back to the wild, especially now with that positive ID of a Fowler's Toad.
