    Default Substrate cleaning question

I'm using eco earth bricks for now, wondering how often I should change it? Is it reusable? Also the eco earth brick expands to an excessive amount for my small container. Can you save it after it expands?

I cut my eco earth bricks in half before soaking them with a table saw. Half a brick is just enough for my enclosure and they last longer this way. I do a complete change once a month or earlier if it starts to smell sour.

You can keep it after it expands. Just leave whatever you don't use in a bucket or tub and it'll eventually dry out. Then when you need it, just add some water to it and mix it around.

I fully clean my tanks once a month. I remove all the eco-earth and replace it. You can spot clean the poop as it shows up, but urine just soaks into the substrate so it's best to replace it.
