So in the last couple years I've downsized my frog collection to just the first two tree frogs I ever bought (made sure every frog i gave away went to a qualified keeper). It was a lot of space and work to care for almost 20 frogs. Anyway I decided to try to delve into snakes a little more (promise i won't abandon the frog keeping hobby) and so I ordered this beautiful girl from LLLReptile
A gorgeous baby Ball Python (Python Regius). I've had her for about a week and a half now. I was quite surprised when she arrived, at 18 inches and only 57 grams she's VERY skinny. Not quite emaciated but getting close enough to it. She's also been a very problematic feeder, although maybe she just needs more time to adjust. It's hard not to offer food when she's so skinny. I'm lucky to say that I've gotten two fuzzies in her since her arrival. Hopefully I can get her up to a healthy weight soon. Despite her being so underweight she is very active and curious. Haven't taken her for her first vet visit yet; don't want to stress her; but did send in a sample of her feces, came up clean. Wish me luck with her!
