(incorrect post title. Supposed to be "Lure Behavior")
I've heard that Pacman frogs can do this, but I saw it for the first time ever the other day during bathtime.
Bathtime is usually uneventful. Froggy likes it. He'll stay still for an hour. Maybe rotate once in a while.
But this time, I was watching, and on the far side of the frog, I saw "something". As if there was a bug in the container with him, but I didn't feed him!
Well, I watched closely. Froggy crouched down as if on the hunt and then...
Froggy lifted his right rear leg way up high and stared moving his foot in bizarre random motions. Toes going every which way. Weird!
What is it? It's a 'lure' behavior. The rear leg is supposed to simulate some sort of insect. The fact that I thought that there was an insect in the cage with him for a second indicates just how well this lure behavior works. It's quite amazing to see. His whole foot does this bizarre random yoga.
I'll have to keep a video camera ready for bathtime. It's gonna be hard to get a video of this ultra cool behavior.
The mistaken 95 degrees title...
We had a heat wave some time ago and I saw that the thermostat said 95F. I panicked and turned off all heat to that cage.
Pacman frog did not panic. In fact, he seems to like it really warm. He had no problem keeping himself comfortable during the heatwave, it appears.
In the future, i'll take steps to prevent this sort of heat overshoot. Thankfully, this species of frog is _way_ forgiving to mistakes of the owner!

Yeah that's a luring behavior. He wants to eat another froggy

Yep it's a lure alright, he was looking for something to eat. From what I have read and heard the infamous frog eater the Cornuta does this a lot in the wild to lure in other little foggies.
