We are in Upstate NY and even with the A/C his take rarely dips below 72 degrees. Like you said I'm just going to use the red bulb for now. Our apartment is very well lit and has many windows. Tomorrow after his appointment (depending on how things do :/) I will pick up a heat emitter. They seem to last longer than any bulbs overall. Thanks again.
