i order hornworms, butterworms and silk worms for my bearded dragon and i was wondering if as a variety can they be fed to a pacman frog too? i don't have a pacman yet so i am asking a lot of questions and if i'm bothering anyone with my questions let me know
Horn worms are a common treat for pacman frogs, among other frog species. They have good calcium, so a lot of people feed them on occasion to their pacman frogs, just not as a staple, due to high fat.Butterworms are kinda like wax worms as far as I remember, but are high in fat much like horn worms, and are similarly relegated to a "treat" role. Silkworms I'm not sure, but I'd imagine they'll eat them. As far as staples go, crickets, roaches, and nightcrawler worms are common.
i have another question where would you trust buying worms from? a pet store or a bait shop? we don't have any pet stores in town that sells night crawlers. we have plenty of bait shops but i don't know if i can trust the sources.
Bait shops are fine, although I do get mine from a vivarium store, which carries redworms, nightcrawlers, and minI nightcrawlers, "Sure Ketch" brand. Comes in a smallish blue plastic tub filled with moist dirt. Just check to make sure theyes haven't been dyed, as that can be harmful to your pets. As long as they are not dyed worms from a decent bait shop should be fine.
