Bathing

Was wondering the same thing, last week beast mode dropped a duece in his pond. since then, i've not seen anything laying around anywhere, i hope he's not using it where he camps out. i looked but i didnt see anything. ( do they hide it? ) Not to try to hijack your thread, but i didnt see any need asking this qestion in a new thread considering it's about bathing. but usually every 2 days my frog comes out and gets in his water tub, i used the fifteen minute rule last night but he still ate 5 superworms and an earthworm. My question is he's usually gone when i get up and this morning he was still there, is there something wrong for his extended stay to have occured?

He's actually not doing it if he's not in a warm bath.. I've scanned his substrate like a RT-D2 In turbo-mode.

They don't all "poop" on schedule. My 3+ month old pac goes every few days. My 8+ month old pac goes every few weeks. And my 2+ year old pac that I've had for a few weeks, hasn't gone yet.


If your temps are good, and he hasn't ingested anything but food then chances are he's just using up most of what he eats and there's not a lot of waste left.

Thanks Jeff! So it's normal for him not "pooping" in some weeks then? When he was small he did it every second day but now when he's over 1 year old he doesn't. This is a probably a stupid question but does they pee the water they absorb?

I believe it's normal. I also believe bathing them cause unnecessary stress. In the wild and in our home, they just sit there and wait for food. When they need to do their business, they do it. Nobody picks them up in the wild and moves them to water to "drop one". The only time I ever touch my frogs is when I remove them to clean their tanks. Other than that, they can go weeks without moving. If they poop, I clean it up. If they don't poop, I just leave them alone until they do.

They do pee quite a bit. Which is a good reason to change your substrate on a regular basis. Because it'll just soak in like water does.

With these frog they can go months without eating, I'm pretty sure they can go for while without needing to go bathroom.

Also like John said they do get lazy sometime and just go where ever.
