    i think the screen top might be enough, hoods are really bad for keeping in too much heat. They do lay eggs at warm temps, but you don't want anything above 82F, that's the absolute maximum temperature. in the wild the pools heat up with the sun and this helps egg development and they like to bask, but they can also retreat into some shade to cool down when necessary. take all of those steps and see what happens, but maybe some portable air conditioner in the room set on a thermostat may be necessary. if you give them rain, that will just encourage more breeding
