Default Help Identifying? - North Texas Frog

Neighborhood kid thats seen my animals brought a little critter over Monday, looked pretty bad as it had been in a freshly shocked pool for probably a day or two. He was pretty brown almost black, got him settled into a small enclosure and consuming entire blood lines of fruit flies now lol and hes turned into quite the looker!

I originally thought he was a leopard frog(have a southern), but seeing him liven up a little more I have my doubts. No ridges, hes not very jumpy, and has only come down out of foliage a few times but that could be to him finding more hiding spots up there?

Were in N. Texas in the Denton area. About 3-4 miles from Lake Ray Roberts.

Have plenty of empty enclosures and set ups for him to grow into, but if someone can help me identify this little dude I can make sure hes as comfortable as possible. Quick hit on google has me thinking Spotted Chorus Frog? Anyone here with extended experience with this species?

Thanks for any help. And sorry for potato quality pictures, I obviously cant sit still today lol

Yes it looks like a type of chorus frog, the markings are herd to tell but the description sounds right!
