Ya I would cut them up to appropriate size if hes still small. When I start to feed night crawlers when there babies I try to make sure they are no thicker then the gap between their eyes and no longer then half to maybe 3/4's there body length. Some people may have a different rule when it comes to feeder size but I have never had problems doing it this way, and feed the tail end first so if he doesn't eat all the worm you can put it back in the tub. The head will continue to live were the tail end will just die. Hope this helped.
