Hi neighbor I live about an hour away in Jenison. I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago when my Gray Tree Frog tadpoles started to morph. I have 5 froglets to date and 3 tadpoles yet to change. I collected the tadpoles from my sister's pool cover so my 10 year old son could watch their transformation. The original plan was to release them as they morphed but we became so attached to them we couldn't let them go! My teenage boys and husband are also enjoying watching the little guys grow. I have always loved animals of all kinds but stayed away from the non mammal type pet because I didn't know how to care for them properly. This site is a great resource for beginners. This started out as an educational experience for my son and turned into one for me too! I wish your family well with your new pet.

    Hey Malinda

Thanks the tank got finished today...Was going to be a 30g but it turns that was to big for the place I had...So I used a 15g high.....I also found aSpring Peeper in the little cage thing....Good thing I got flightless fruit flies too...He is a little active thing both have eaten and seem to be making the new tank a home....

Am I understanding this right? You are housing a gray treefrog and a spring peeper together? If so, thats not a good idea. First of all you shouldn't mix amphibian species, for all kinds of reasons, and second, gray treefrogs get big enough to eat spring peepers.

Yea I plan on letting it go but didn't want to do it in my yard....I plan on taking it back to where it came from this weekend. I didn't know it was in there till after it was brought home. The Gray was the only one I noticed.....After doing some reading here and on-line I figured he would be best to go back and not mix them after reading some of your post and stuff here which I wasn't intending to mix and only wanted the Gray......Thanks for the advice much appreciated.
