Australian Green Tree frogs are sometimes called Green Tree Frogs. Probably not a mistake. Do you know if yours is the Australian or Indonesian type? It could be a pigment fluke only visible sometimes for all I know.

Keep a close eye on him, see if he spends an unusual amount of time in the water bowl, see if he's eating. If he appears to be sick otherwise, the spot might be related to patchy shedding and a sign of a fungal infection.

Sorry, he's def an Australian green tree frog, our government in Australia has strict import laws on amphibians so unfortunatly it's hard to get exotic frogs into the country.
they were given to me by a friend when I got my rep/amph licence.
apparently it's always had the blue spot but being a beginner I didn't think they had blue variations
any other insight would be amazing though

Oh good, it's probably just a pigment thing or a scar then. And they do have blue variations!
