    Default Hello from New Mexico

    Hi

I'm from New Mexico and am majoring in biology with special interests in herpetology and animal physiology. I just acquired my first frog (A callidryas) and am really excited about it.

Outside of school I like to go backpacking and play with my dogs.

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Hows your Red-Eyed Tree Frog settling in?

    Thanks!

My RETF is doing well I think. He has a voracious appetite and is enjoying his temporary set up before we move him to our main viv after his quarantine. He's alert and has very nice coloring. I can't wait to get him some companions.

Of course I'm not positive he's a male because he's only an inch long but I know males are more prevalent in general.

Great to have you. I wanted to major in herpetology, but decided to become a geologist and make herps my hobby.

I'm happy majoring in herpetology. I hope I'm able to do something to set myself apart from others with common professional interests.

Honestly I wish I could major in every science.

Welcome to the forum. If you get a chance take a pic of your RETF and let us see him. I've got a regular red eye, an albino red eye, and a xanthic red eye.

Yeah, they are hard to take pictures of. All my pictures of them have been in the dark with a flash. Someday I'm going to take them out onto my lawn and take good photos of them. I saw some pictures of a guy who did that and they came out really nice with the background. I don't have any kind of special camera with a macro or anything like some people do. So I definately need natural sun light.
