    Default WhitesTF:ill or overweight?

Above is a picture of my frog July 22, 2010.

Below is a picture of him July 27, 2010.

The picture above strikes me as odd because he hadn't eaten a few days before this picture.

Is he overweight and I'm just being paranoid or could this have resulted from some illness and/or him swallowing dirt too often? (I'm guessing he just needs a diet but better safe then sorry...)

He does look a little bit edemic. I would get it checked out.

"Edemic?" "Ecdemic" without a "c","endemic" without an "n" or a word I'm not familiar with?

Any advice until I can bring him to see a vet? I won't be able to make the trip until the end of August. (The disadvantage to being in the middle of nowhere...)

Kurt means he looks like he is retaining some water. Edema.

Unless the substrate is relatively new, I would say clean his terrarium out and build it from scratch - need to keep him clean.

By the way Crystal, I don't approve of your signature in the context of the web site. Can please change it?

Ohhh. The dirt tends to stick to them when it's dry so I wet it down before I let them in. Is edema dangerous? (I could change the substrate to peat moss or paper towels.)

    (Signature fixed, my bad.)

Edema a lot of the time is caused by an infection. It is also caused by other things, all of which escape me at the moment. Like I said I would get it checked out by a vet.
