I was wondering if a 2.0 compact UVB bulb was used on a pixie frog tank, would you not have to dust the food items for the frog with D3?
It would be a very good idea to continue dusting.
The value of uvb in most amphibians is still up in the air. Some evidence suggests that many amphibian species actively avoid uvb when possible. While in limited amounts it may possibly provide some benefit for some species It is certain that uvb isn't nearly as important to amphibians as it is to most reptiles. It certainly would be an inadequate alternative to dusting with a good quality supplement.
But is having a low powered uvb bulb and dusting better than just dusting?
