Update: added loamy sand to finish the substrate. I will sprinkle white sand over the substrate to give it the flat woods look. I also added a half bark hide that I found and disinfected. Leaves (live oak/beech) were added as well as pine needles. Bark shavings were also added for boiling and a forest look, Lastly the water bowl was put in. I have a t8 uvb slim bulb and canopy on the tank with a metal screen. The layout is sloping and has a minimum of 1/2" to a deepest area of 3". My plants will be Poverty Oat Grass (Danthonia spicata), Early Meadow Rue (Thalictrum dioicum), and Slender Bush Clover (Lespedeza Virginia). I will be planting seeds in the upcoming week, or might just buy the bush clover and rue as plants and order the grass seeds.

Sounds like an interesting build. However will a small 10 gallon tank be able to handle your plants without looking overgrown? Grasses of any kind seem to stump me when I consider them for my 10 gallon viv.

I will trim or let them grow out if the tank, the tank has a wide screen top
