Hiya, thank you for your reply! I have been monitoring him and I am very happy with the way he is behaving now I've just realised after more research that they are not always constantly on the move lol

My red eyes are on the move ALL NIGHT. They wake up almost immediately after lights out and are still up when the lights come on at 7 am. One of the big things I notice when red eyes sleep a lot is that they feel insecure. Try covering 3-4 sides of your tank. I would probably start with 4 sides and slowly uncover the one side. I keep 3 sides covered on my red eye tanks at all times though. Also, offer a lot of plant cover. Strangely enough, the more places they have to hide, the more they come out.

Thanks for your reply! I gave 3 sides covered, and I have a lot of leaves in my tank, what else would you recommend for hiding places? Also could it be anything to do with humidity levels? Mine seems to be dipping very quickly recently?

Mine hide in the leaves when they want. It could be the humidity if it is getting too dry. I have a humidifier running in the room with my red eyes and my darts from fall until spring. I also cover a little over half if the top of my tank with Saran Wrap and mist more or less often depending on how much the heater is running.

Sorry, it's a brand name here. Plastic wrap like you use for covering food.
