White's Tree Frog eye problem?

I've had this in the back of my mind for a while now, and when I was thinking of anything I'd changed in my frog's setup, I remembered I recently got him a stronger heat lamp. I've heard about eye problems from high UVB and cheap lights, but is it possible that a lamp could damage a frog's eye like this just by being too bright or something?

UVB damage can happen, but I thought most uvb lamps were fairly weak, especially since they're filtered through mesh at the top of the cage. Also I thought most "heat lamps" weren't UVB unless it was a combined type. Maybe if it was an especially strong light for reptiles to bask under?

It actually is a basking spot lamp, but it's a pretty weak one. "50W Daylight Basking Spot" - it seemed like it was providing the right kind of temperatures, but I guess it might be too bright.

If there's any chance that this kind of eye damage can be caused by the light, I might as well switch back to the one he had before. I'd like to know for sure, though. I swapped him over because the last light didn't seem to be providing enough heat.

Have you taken your frog to the vet ? Has it progressed ? I have a frog with lipidosis (build up of fat). Unfortunately, it is impossible to get real answers because they don't know why it happens. I volunteer at an aquarium and they tell me they just havent studied these things. Ive fed her crickets her hole life. They are not fatty feeders.
It is slowly progressive, but the white in her eyes started from the outsides and worked its way in.
