I've had him for i'd say 2 or 3 weeks now. I got him when he was a tadpole and now he's a complete frog. I don't know species he is but I do know that he is semi-aquatic. For the past days I've kept trying to feed him mini dubia roaches but with no success. He only focuses on trying to get away.
He hasn't eaten anything since he became a frog, but he has pooped a lot.
Number one does he still have any remains of his tail? If so he still needs to fully absorb it before eating, and second, what species is it? Thanks for reading!![]()
Yes he has completely absorbed his tail for about a week or two now.
Like I said, I don't know what species he is. He looks like a bullfrog but he's small and kind of slim. He was olive green but now he is kind of brownish, greyish.
Well that tells me he's in the genus Lithobates, or at least spends a major portion of his time in/around water. What does his current enclosure look like?
If it's been a week or so since he might be stressed by your presence. Maybe try leaving the feeders with him somewhere they can't get away, like a bucket?
Elly's right, it might be stress. Try putting the food in somewhere where the prey can't escape, but also put newspaper or some sort of opaque substance around the glass so it doesn't see a giant "predator" looming over it at all times
