I'm upgrading my 45x45x45 terrarium (housing 2 whites tree frogs) to a 60x45x90. Considering I only use a heat bulb and a daytime bulb, do I need to get the 60cm light canopy to match the width? I don't have a use for the 3rd bulb slot, but is it okay to use a canopy that doesn't cover the whole width?
Thanks!

The Exo Terra heat bulbs that fit in the 45cm canopy won't provide enough heat for this size enclosure and they're not really any good for creating basking sites either. I would get a zoomed mini light dome and maybe a 40w or higher incandescent bulb connected to a dimming thermostat to maintain the basking area at 85F during the day. A flourescent tube would be better than a compact for this size of terrarium, perhaps a 5% 15w Arcadia or zoomed UVB light. Compacts are not very good and better suited to terrariums that are too small to accommodate tubes.
