Parents: natural male, Phantom. albino female, Kirby. - - - first successful mating, both approx 12-14 months of age.
laid early Saturday, July 24, 2010.
10 eggs hatched, now 5 days old
will use this thread as a journal to keep track of their progress (fingers crossed!!)
feeding - - finely ground ReptoMin sticks and HBH Frog and Tadpole bites. also what I call "bloodworm broth" - - 1 cube of frozen bloodworm (defrosted) + 1 cup of water, set to puree on blender
any tips, experience, etc welcome! this is my first batch!

day 6 - - a noticeable growth! yay!
Also, it is obvious that 3 of the tadpoles are "white/clear" - - hopefully these morph into albinos like their mom!
did a 30 % waterchange and fed them their powdered mixture - - can see nice full bellies! (perk of them being see-through!)![]()
That's great. I would love to see a photo of the clear tadpoles. Are Albino's rare your way? We have the odd Albino Green & Golden come up here for sale but they sell for like $1000.00. Not what I would pay.![]()
no, not exactly "rare', but more valuable by a few dollars...plus I just like the albinos a little bit more than marbled...
I tried getting photos of the tadpoles, but both color variations just come out as white blurs on my camera - -they are still too tiny to really be focused on - - hopefully by next week I will be able to get some good photos!
Ha ha..You haven't trained them well enough yet then ah!. They really do have to learn to stop and pose for their photo-shoot.![]()
did a 20% water change and feed blood worm broth - - I can tell they are growing
there are two tadpoles that seem MUCH smaller than the others - - one of the white tadpoles and one of the shadowed tadpoles.
I hope they catch up! from what I have read, chances are these two will not successfully morph, but fingers crossed!
The little white one is the tiniest one of the bunch....between 1/3-1/2 the size of the other tadpoles...still looks like a day 2 tadpole.
yesterday the frogs were a week old!but today the little white tadpole died. it was so far behind in development i don't think it had a change of successfully morphing anyways.
I took some new pictures and a new video - - one of the albinos really stands out (if you squint...)
