I've had a gray tree frog for 5 months. Up until yesterday, he always liked to hang out on the glass, on one of the live plants in the terrarium or on some of the small branches I have in the tank.
Yesterday I noticed he was staying in the substrate (coconut husk) with his rear very close to the water. He's alive, I've touched him and he jumps but makes his way back to the same spot. When I fed them last night, he ate but he didn't chase the crickets, he just ate those that walked right in front of him.
During the day the tank is 78 degrees. The humidity is around 60 - 65 when the light is one. It goes up to 75 - 80 when the light goes out. I have an exo terra terrarium, with rock on the bottom, covered in mesh and I created a small pool in the front for the frogs to bathe.
Is my frog sick? I've read that frogs hang out in the substrate when they are calcium deficient. Could that be the case?
I don't have a picture of the frog right now, I can take one tonight when I get home.
