I need help I want to get another Tree frog. I want something very cool I can get a very good deal sometimes I already have green tree frogs and a red eye. I was thinking of a clown or whites but I dont know.

Well I have all the above species in my collection, so I think I can properly advise you on the subject.

White's are very common in the pet trade. They grow to a decent size, are tollerant of handling, and are usually easy to care for. About half of the specimens for sale are captive bred and those are the animals you want. See my article under the Care Info section for more details.

Clowns are one of my favorite frogs. They are colorful and somewhat hardy, but I don't think they are for everybody. They are small, so their food items will be small insects such as fruit flies and 1/8 inch crickets. They are also fairly nocturnal and I only see mine after lights out. Clowns are rarely captive bred, so more than likely any you come across for sale will be wild caught out of Suriname. I currently have a pair and I purchased another pair last April, in hopes of starting a breeding colony. Unfortunately, the second pair thinned out and died within a few weeks of purchase. So beware of this pit fall, and realize its hit or miss on those frogs. If you do manage to get a healthy frog or frogs, it should be smooth sailing from there on.
