Lighting in ACF tank

I know I'm probably being paranoid, but as you can tell I have an Albino African Clawed Frog. A friend has just give me a new tank, however it comes with a 25 watt light. Currenlty in his old tank, which was his first (which he is still in) doesn't have light. Im wondering if I use this light, will it harm him in any way because he's not used to it, I would only be using the light a few hours at night. As he is my first frog I do love him and I wouldnt want to harm him, i just want the best.

What type of bulb? Incandescent or fluorescent?

ACFs do best with natural light. If artificial light is used, make sure you follow these procedures:

1. Use a low-wattage (25 watt) bulb.
2. Continuous 24-hour lighting should not be used.
3. A photoperiod of between 12 and 14 hours light, and 12 and 10 hours dark is recommended.
4. Where artificial lighting is used, a gradual brightening/dimming period of around 20-30 minutes in the morning/evening should be incorporated.

Personally, I do not use artificial lighting and my frogs have done well. The important thing is to gradually dim or brighten the lights, the idea is to reproduce a natural lighting experience.
