I caught two toads recently at a local park. One is brick red, with black/white mottled sides and a cream white belly. The other is colorless; gray and white. Sometimes black. Both have 3-4 bumps in each dark spot on their backs, and the bumps on their tibias seem a bit larger than the ones on the other parts on the leg. The cranial crests don't seem to touch the paratoid glands, but they also don't seem to be "L" shaped. They seem more like straight lines that come down but don't curve to the sides. Both are the same size--about 2-2 1/2 inches. I live in CT if that helps.
