Hi Hanna, what a lovely introduction
I'll send you a PM about land hermit crabs soon as I've never kept any but they seem quite fascinating and quite cute ()
    All the best, Ken x

    Aw, thanks.
Hermit crabs make WONDERFUL little pets. They are friendly and easy to maintain. Plus, you can decorate shells for them with their names on them.

I wouldnt decorate their shells if I were you. As they can try scrape the paint off and eat it. There was this topnotch site I got recommended to a long time ago about hermit crabs.... I forgot what it was called. But it showed the complexity of caring for one. O.e I wanted one. But after reading all that I was like(screw this...). Anywho welcome to the forum dear.
Jeebuz thats alot of pets(seriously). I doubt anyone can top that. Personally I only keep a rabbit, two turtles(painted, musk). Some toads and tree frogs.
Ived kept over 14dogs(i rescued them and found them new homes). I also keep goldfish(2 comets, 1 common, 2 ryukins). I used to keep a map turtle, box turtle(he got out) ,res, and a few others I forgot about. You keep an RES? Nice! I love those. Most people tend to keep them in tanks smaller than (males)75gs which causes health problems. Yes, yes Iam a turtle addict. Corn snakes? Very simple snakes to keep! Very docile too. My favorite morph is the blizzard. I used to work in a petstore so technically I "owned" them to an extent. Lol. Ived cared for guinea pigs, birds(favorite is the society finch and pidgeons/doves), dogs(I train them sometimes), cats, snakes, geckos, rare saltwaterfish and some freshwater fish.

Good luck and hope your time here is dandy!

Sounds like you have quite the zoo too!
As for the hermit crabs, I think I remember what site you're talking about. Personally, I think that there is a wide level of variance between caring for an animal on paper, and caring for it in real life. I've kept close to twenty hermit crabs in my life, most in decorative shells, and never had a problem. I can see how there is potential, but honestly, it's not a real concern, if you are seriously considering hermit crabs as a pet.
I love my RES! Her name is Bessie, and she is too cute. She is also very social. When we clean her tank, she likes to follow us around. She also takes immense pleasure in chasing the dogs, who are inexplicably terrified of her. She is still fairly young, but I raised her from the time she was quarter sized.
I love rare fish! I currently have three baby flounders, which are super fun. I also have Blind Cave Tetras, which are amazing to watch.
I'm so glad to see another comet keeper! I rescued three dozen foot long pond comets back in January, and I rehomed all but 5 that I'm keeping for myself. I also just rescued 5 baby PCs that I am in love with! I also have an adorable fantail, who is all whit except for an orange "Y" on his face and an orange "saddle."
I appreciate the greeting, and I'm already having a dandy time!
