Bear in mind that the nutritional content of the waxworm doesn't just magically change following metamorphosis. It's still the same insect and will have similar nutritional content. Probably the only advantage to feeding moths vs. larvae is the stimulation the frogs get from hunting moths.

I think you could because it's a great recipe and it is very natural. You put a lot of effort into creating that recipe.

This is the enclosure for them before I start sifting for ones that have entered pupal stage.

Here I have placed the food trays at the bottom with egg crates just hovering above



A small cap with water gel



I then place another crate on top of the other 2



I then just pour the wood shavings on top and await the larvae either going to the other side or to the food and then ill remove some of the shavings



The hover effect, here I use the force to levitate the egg crates



The finished article with mesh for ventilation





Over the next day or 2 I will place 10 to 20 in separate jars to be placed under heat source to raise temps.

I will keep a small number of moths for breeding.

To help me identify eggs I will place black tissue in jars for the eggs to be laid.

little update I contacted the local bee keepers association and one of the members is generously donating old brood bees wax next week which the larvae supposidly favour more.

Would someone be kind enough to look at the above Hamster food ingredients as im thinking of grinding the rest down and using it on the rest of my bugs.

Is there anything needed added or taken away from it?

Yeah I agree far better chase for them. Going back to the ingredients though do you think they are ok or need tweaked if I was to grind it for the rest of my insects?

Crickets and roaches prefer lots of protein. Basically, the more protein you feed them the more productive they are.

I was doing a bit of cleaning through the wax grubs pen, when I came across some chrysalis.

Plenty of moths now, got them in with some dark blue napkins, same stuff for fancy dinners, I guess they will lay eggs on them and will be easier to see...
