Pyxies love to burrow so I'd imagine it was just relaxing.

And Bruce in that last picture your frog is shedding.

She just woke up a few days ago, with a very dark orange under her one arm, looks really nice
the only problem is since she woke up she is refusing to eat earthworms.... crickets on the other hand... well just don't last very long, as with everything else i feed her... she just wont eat earthworms anymore though...

Anyway, im glad shes up and enjoying her new tank

That's good news Bruce. Try the earthworms again in a few days.

also, i have just one more question, is it possible to keep a male and a female pyxie together in the same tank. I have this big 40 gal. and i kinda feel like like its too big for a female, and it would still be pretty roomy for one male...

Hey Bruce! Very nice looking pyxie! I have a male and a female, and I keep them in two different tanks. They can see each other, and every time one moves, the other one will strike, bonking their nose on the glass. Male pyxies grow quite a bit larger than females, and usually, in the amphibian world, anything smaller means dinner. I would recommend keeping more than one pyxie separate unless you intend to breed them.

ahh, that's a bummer... i figured they live together in the wild, so maybe it would be ok...

Regarding the photo, she looks like she's either shedding or she was about to aestivate (they get that pale sheen) - how's the humidity in her tank?

Regarding keeping them together, I keep my two females together without problems but I've never tried to keep a male and a female together for long. I've heard of people doing it but I'm a little wary.

yeah, shes shedding, and the humidity is around 70, give or take. i dont think shes aestivating considering shes still eating very well...

i wanna try it and at the same time i dont... maybe i'll get another female then since you say it works out ok.
