A very long time ago I found several tiny toadlets under the foliage along the edge of my house. Every day I checked they would always be there, though I have no idea what body of water they hatched from or where they came from at all! We have this old beat up kiddie pool that's flipped upside down, and is bent upward in one spot to create a large opening in it. I had forgotten about the toadlets for a while, and went out along the edge of the house and was unsuccessful. I assumed they moved on, but I lifted that kiddie pool to find 2 penny sized toads under there! I knew it was those same toadlets grown up a bit. The next day, they were still under there, and a week later, I could still find these 2 toads under there. It's dark, moist, solid dirt, and has lots of bugs for them to eat. A perfect little home! (they were NOT stuck. There is a huge opening and they could easily crawl out on any area. And it was upside down, so it was very open inside.) Again I forgot about these toadlets for a long time, and... nearly a month later I would say, one of the toads still remained under that upside down pool! Here is a picture of when I first found the toad and what how big he is now (a few days ago). Sometimes he will be under there, and sometimes he will just be near or hopping along the house. My friend was surprised how he would just sit on my hand so easily long enough to take a picture!

you will have to click the picture to make it bigger. I'm not sure why it does that.
Very nice and smart kiddy pool toad!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Very cool! Any updates on the toad?
