My Asian Common Toad excretion smells really bad. He goes to the toilet about 2 or 3 times a week. Because of the stinky smell, I have to get rid of the excretion right away, but it is terrible to do so. Are there any other suggestions for that, everyone? My toad is about 9cm in length and it's a little bit fat![]()
Hi
Asian common toads are beautiful toads, so I'm very jealous. The water dish should be changed everyday to keep it clean, unless large amounts of water are used and filtered. Usually toads may excrete their toxin as a defense, so make sure not to handle it unless cleaning the tank. I would attach backgrounds to all but the front to make it feel secure. Whatever you do, do not try to squeeze the glands dry. Toads can become very fat in captivity and scoff down any food you give them so avoid feeding too much or they will become obese. Usually feeding twice per week is suitable for adults toads
