    Question Axolotls (questions: food, etc)

I'm new to Axolotl care, although I have always had an interest in the animals. I've been doing a lot of research, since I am planning to buy some when I can. Any pointers would be great. I especially am curious of how many places I have to choose from to purchase my Axolotls from. (Simply put, what are all of the places I can buy them from?)

Also, there is a pellet food that many people feed their Axolotls. Where can that be purchased? Also, I've read many people just recommend earth worms as their main or sole diet. Is either of those options all the food they need? What about babies, is there any easy-to-find food source for them? (I will provide whatever care they need, I just need to mainly find out the best way to feed one, whether a baby, or older?)

Axolotls can be bought from local breeders or at reptile expos, Or you could ask if your local pet store can order. Earthworms are the best thing you can feed the axolotl but the axolotl will not usually recognize it as food and may just cloud up the water. For baby axolotls, live food would need to be provided. Daphnia and white worms can be cultured easily and are available at pet stores. More info can be found on Caudata Culture Articles - Food Items for Captive Caudates

Ive given a quick check online, Worms Are Here! is where blackworms can be found for sale but i don't recommend buying animals online due to the fact that you cannot see the condition of the animal or guarantee a live arrival, Some websites like LLLreptile may have axolotls for sale or Kingsnake.com
