Hello everyone,
I'm working on building a climate control module for my cane toads using a Raspberry Pi/Arduino. I hope to have it automatically mist their enclosure whenever humidity drops below a certain percentage. The part I'm having trouble with is deciding what material to use to build the mist supplier. Originally I was imagining a thin metal pipe with several holes and mist nozzles along the edge that I'd attach along the top back of the tank; however, I've been doing research on what type of metal would be safe to use for an amphibian enclosure (originally thinking copper) and most metals seem potentially harmful. Does anyone have any suggestions on a metal or plastic material I could use instead that would be safe? Would PVC piping be safe? Vinyl tubing? Any input or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
