Really sorry I couldn't be more help but I thought it give you something whilst you wait. So I take it you've been keeping him at room temp? This would be ideal, then you'd only need a very low wattage daylight bulb and no heat is really necessary at night unless drops below 70f. I would recommend the zoomed bulbs daylight bulbs, I use them and they have a long life. As said mine was pink but not that pink, so not sure. Hopefully someone will come along soon and tell you if they think it is or not but I've had to deal with lots of diseases with frogs but not this, so really not qualified to say

Hello, as Jason said its very common for them to be abit pink on the back legs and belly but that does look abit more of a red then pink. And the sore on the foot is abit concerning if it just developed on its own and its not injury. But besides the heat as Jason mentioned you are doing every thing you should if you think its redleg. You want him to be quarantined from all others on paper towels and keep the furnishings to bare minimum. Put may be plant for some cover and a hide with bowl and that's it. You need to clean and disinfect all furnishings and change water and paper towel everyday. Keep putting the Neosporin on but make sure theres no pain reliever meds in it because that will kill your frog. My advice would be if you really think it could be redleg bring them to a vet asap because it sounds like its just comeing on and once its in the advance stages even with vet help the frog doesn't usually make it. Im not saying myself for sure that it is redleg but if this is the case you will want to get some antibiotics, this is one of those things that the little home remedies don't usually cure but just makes the progression longer in my opinion. So keep doing what your doing, try to get your temps up like Jason mentioned and if you think redleg is more likely the case make that vet appointment as soon as you can before he gets to the no eating and lethargy stage.

HOLY CRAB I WAS USING ONE WITH PAIN RELIEVER.. NO WONDER CROQUETA'S LEGS LOOKED A BIT SWOLLEN! What do I do? I had no idea this could cause a problem maybe should I give them a running water bath?? Ive handled them too much today though.. I'm ordering a different Neosporin asap and making an appointment with the vet..

No problem If you're still learning, I would highly recommend the book AVS chacoan horned frogs by Philippe de Vosjoli. I always recommend this one because I've read many online care sheets and other books, whilst some may have some valuable info, a lot are very bad. Like cory I would say if in doubt take to a vet but make sure they have at least a reference on treating amphibians, ideally someone who has experience.

Soak the frog in de-chlorinated water straight away make sure it's within the suitable temperature range, use a thermometer... What's cold to us may be very warm to them. Make appointment straight away. I hope everything is okay!

I just put her to soak I'll do it again maybe later at night and the exotics specialists will be available for a consultation on Monday oh Jesus do you think my frog will be all right?? Will she like, die because of the neosporin? Or will a couple soaks take care of that?

If the frog jumps about it's enclosure looking distressed, it may well be suffering but if not it might be fine, as in not in pain or discomfort. I hope you can get anything that may be wrong sorted on Monday, at least it isn't too far away. Good luck!

Just discontinue use till you get the other one. And don't be hard on yourself, everyone makes mistakes in the beginning that's part of the learning process. Breeders have probably made tons of errors to get were they are and learn what they know so even the best make them. So just keep quarantined, get the other Neosporin and keep doing the other things till Monday when you go see the vet. For all you know it may not be redleg at all and some mild bacterial infection or something in which antibiotics would be needed for anyway. If things get worse like he stops eating or moveing let us know and if not on monday let us know what the vet says.

Cory's totally right as always, even breeders have made mistakes and then learned from them. The good news is horned frogs are quite hardy frogs, though their achilles heal is with temps and supplementation as youngsters.

I'll definitely add to the threat if anything weird happens, and what amount I put, I put on Croqueta's toes which was probably quickly washed off? I've already moved froggy around way too much for today so I don't want to cause any stress or anything because that would make it all worse, I bet. That's true though, I'm just worried the mistakes I make might end up killing it agghdndhs I really love my frog I don't want anything bad to happen.. As for the moment, I'll just put a few crickets in the enclosure and leave her in peace for the night, I think?

Thank you sm for all your help! As for the moment, shes just kind of chilling in her water bowl but I'll pay very close attention these days to see if her condition gets better and stuff. She doesnt seem to be distressed or jumpy or anything, but as for today I'll leave her to rest and stuff and I'll clean out her entire enclosure tomorrow ??
