Hey guys, I recently acquired a japanese mountain toad. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Too small for dubia nymphs.
I'm going to pick up some fruit flies tomorrow for it but I have a few questions.
I have it currently on eco earth. Is this ok or will it cause problems with feeding?
I plan on offering it food every day, is this recommended? How often should I dust its food?
I haven't cared for a small phib like this in a few years so I am a bit rusty. The last one I had was a gray tree frog froglet.
Advice is much appreciated!

As far as feeding, IMO the high lite of a toad's life is eating.lol so feeding them everyday is definitely recommended. Dusting for me has always been a bit of a mystery on how much, I usually dust (repcal D3/herptitvite) everyday, usually skipping a day every week. If you're concerned about your toad eating substrate you could always feed him in a sub free feeding enclosure.
