Hello lovely people,
I am sorry if this is the wrong place, but I figured you guys would know best!
So Fred is getting upgraded to a 40 gallon breeder, and I would like to give him much more water access. Roughly 2/3 of his tank will be water. Does anyone know of any filter that can handle Pyxie poop?
I would get a big one beacuse the bigger the better, but I don't know which one?

Be extremely diligent with treating and changing out the water often. Things can turn bad before you know.
Yeah I would be doing weekly partial water changes, and since I work in a lab I have ready access to water testing kits.
I'm considering adding a couple of fish in order to help keep the good bacteria alive.
Sounds like you are going for something similar to my setup:
I use A Rena XP4 Filstar. It does a good job cleaning up after a big dump, or the tons of dirt he brings with him when he goes back and forth.
I could never get fish to last long term in there with him. They would do fine (livebearers seemed to be the best), but then one day he'd go in the water and decide to drop a dookie in the middle of the night, the resulting ammonia spike sometimes killing them outright.
So, I gave up on fish; the filter is pretty much there for mechanical filtration. I still have to do regular water changes (when he's in the water doing stuff).
That said he just recently woke up after nearly 4 months of sleep, so all I did was top off the water area.
Weekly isn't good enough, I lost mine on a Tuesday after changing the water on a Sunday. Had a small filter and a good 3 gallons of water, and she hadn't even pooped in the water, just peed. Water on Sunday was clean and treated, but after testing it, the ammonia level were extremely high. Just saying, be careful.
