I was wondering if I need to put a lid on my new pixie frogs setup, or if he will get out. How high can they jump to try and get out? The setup is a 30 gallon tub, it is 16 and a half I Inches tall. the tub is a little small but he frog will only be a baby. Is he able to jump out or should I make a lid?

Also if I used a 100watt light to heat the enclosure, would that work? I dont think a heat mat would work with how the soil is wet, it could cause a fire. So would the light be sufficient?

Not sure how high they'll jump but it's always best to use a lid just in case, or you could end up with a dried up frog on the floor. It would probably be best starting the frog in a 10 gallon tank rather than a large tub, so the frog can find it's food easier. The soil should not be wet but instead moist. The heat mat goes under the tub and not inside, so how wet the substrate is doesn't matter. I would try to use a heat lamp instead though to provide a basking spot
I have him in a small enclosure right now but was thinking about the future.
