If your worried about crickets hiding, I would invest in some large feeding tongs. Then, you can use them to encourage the crickets to go towards Lucas (or feed him the crickets directly) and then you can watch him hunt and feed while keeping your fingers at a safe distance! And, yes, I would have to agree with staying away from feeder fish. Some of the parasites they carry can make Lucas an unhappy little frog. Keep us posted on how he is settling in!
Yes feeding with tongs is good. But remember to use BALL pointed tongs, you know the round ones? Here is my image scenario:
Frog lounges onto the tongs to eat the prey. The tongs are rectangular shaped and are made of metal-somewhat of a hazard. The animal could poke its eye out, or stab itself by accident.

Just a thought. If you cant find a ball pointed tongs then just get masking tape and use it on the point of the tongs so its not going to pose a hazard.

As for crickets, thats a good source of foods but dont forget to offer it stuff like earthworms, slugs, roaches, etc. Doesnt have to be the staple diet, but you know variety is the key to a healthy frog(or so is my opinion). Because with different prey items they get enough nutrients and vitamins and minerals and etc.
