The zoo med humidity gauges seem good enough. I use them for a rough idea but also if the tank looks too wet or dry I will mist anyway. I've used the digital ones made by other big brands before and they've failed quite quickly for me, probably cheaply made but with the brand stuck on

Don't know how good it is, but when I have trouble keeping humidity in, I cover part of the top of my tank with plastic wrap(I change it every few days to prevent bacterial buildup). Works like a charm. I'm trying to decide on a water feature or a fogger to help in the meantime. Not sure which yet.

I've recently started using a heat mat underneath my green tree frog tank to maintain a warm floor, a heat lamp is positioned over a branch for a basking spot. When the moist substrate is heated it increases the humidity
